About this event
“The Collection: Scenes of the Era” features a selection of 70 works from the Arko Art Museum’s collection, highlighting the major trends in Korean contemporary art and the significance and value of these works within the museum’s exhibition history. Tracking the works of 60 artists who have participated in Arko Art Museum exhibitions from the 1970s through the 2000s, the exhibition reexamines the diverse trends in Korean contemporary art during those periods and the artists’ creative achievements. Archival materials illustrating the artists’ careers and the museum’s exhibition history are displayed alongside the works. Combined with the findings of collection research conducted by external scholars specifically for this exhibition, these elements unfold the multifaceted narrative of Korean contemporary art.
