2026 Hanbok Culture Week

About this event

The 2025 Hanbok Culture Week is a nationwide hanbok cultural event held during the third week of October each year to promote hanbok—which embodies our unique style and traditions—and to spread the culture of wearing hanbok in everyday life. Its slogan is “Modern Hanbokpan: The Center of K-Culture.” Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, the event showcases a diverse array of hanbok cultural programs—including fashion shows, performances, awards for hanbok professionals, and hands-on experiences—at major locations nationwide. This year, with the participation of approximately 330 venues across the country, it has established itself as a cultural festival that everyone can enjoy. In addition, the festival shares the beauty of hanbok with the world through special events in international hubs such as Hong Kong, New York, and Berlin. It also offers opportunities to enjoy hanbok in a more approachable way through the “Characters in Hanbok” online campaign—featuring six mascot characters from local governments across the country—and an art balloon exhibition. In keeping with the 2025 Hanbok Culture Week slogan, “Right in the Heart of Modern Korea,” we hope this will be a meaningful time for everyone to share in the beauty and value of hanbok as Korean culture flourishes today.
